tatty bookmarks-giveaway

Yes i know i should be packing but its still not done, or anything else come to that and i still have this stinking cold, anyone have any good tips to get rid of it quick? But i have got some what i'm going to call tatty bookmarks, page keepers made.
I got the urge to make something with my scraps and just started sewing them together and then they turned into these.
Tatty bookmarks which i might even make some more of when i come back next week, what do you think?

EDIT........I am going to give one of these away if anyone likes them that is leave a comment on this post and i will do the draw when we get back.

getting ready

On Tuesday we are going to Euro Disney, so spending the weekedn getting stressed, iv'e not got our euro's yet, not got things ready to be packed, not bought toiletries and on top of all that i have a stinking cold. Made Ellie this cute little bag for her little bits and altered a plain note book for her to use as her autograph book.

lovely soap

I just wanted to post some pics of the lovely soap i recieved today from The house of Rose. My youngest daughter suffers from excema and had read about goats milk been good for this so thought i would give it a try. I found this site selling the soap i was after and found the seller very helpfull, i only ordered the goats milk but when my parcel arrived this morning there was all these other little samples for me to try, some bath melts which is also good for excema and other skin conditions and some cute little starts bears and hearts, how nice !

Getting ready for our hols and made myself a passport cover and while i was at it i made more up to for the shop.

Kitchen swap

this photo should have come out at the bottom. On Saturday i recievd my kitchen swap from Kath and i love it. Kath made me a tea cosy which is in log cabin style, i have always fancied having a go at this and when i recieved my lovely cosy it inspired me to have a go, i just used some scrap fabric all the same colour just to give it a go and i was hooked i loved sewing it. I needed something to park my bum on so its gone on this chair.
heres my lovely gifts, Kath sent me some "English breakfast tea" and a silver tea strainer to go with it.
Just look at the detail on the front of the cosy, all neatly stitched i had to take a close up to show you.

another tutorial...

First , this is one of my birthday gifts from my youngest daughter, mmmmmm what do you think she is trying to tell me lol.
Here is another lovely tutorial that i found on a lovely blog called i have to say i loved making this little pinny.
Here is my oldest daughter been a model for me, it's for a child really but fits Laura too, just. I love the little flap at the front to wipe your hands on.

The lovely Amy from Lucykate has a fantastic tutorial for a owl egg cosy, and we all know how cute Amy's owls are so i couldn't wait to give it a go.

I just recieved two lovely gifts in the post, the one above is a prize i won in Laurie's giveaway , its a lovely lavendar smelly which has a cute little dress with stitch detail, i love it thank you Laurie.
Also there is two lovely cards which wasn't part of the giveaway so thank you for those too.

The next gift was wrapped up in this lovelt funky fabric and was a total birthday suprise from Katy.
Just look at this georgoues tea cosy house, I LOVE IT!!!!! I love the fabric which Katy has used and the little fabric tag, and this is just the view from the back.....

Sorry no picks today, working on the kitchen swap and also i have signed up for Katys swap over there on the right. I did do a bit of sewing at the weekend which is now in my shop

suprise in the post and a giveaway

Tomorrow my blog will be one year old so here's a little giveaway, its a placemat made with calico fabric trimmed with some cute Japanese fabric, just leave a comment on this post.
Today i got a lovely suprise in the post, i wasn't expecting any parcels so wondered what it could be. As soon as i saw it was from Penny..... I ripped open the package and inside was a early birthday present.
Penny had made this lovely crochet bag and inside was a book full of patterns in crochet, i dont know which one to start first. Thank you so much Penny !!
